More Than Wings and Football
After moving to Buffalo, the world was still in the throws of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some long time establishments and established practices, like late night full menu meals, burnt out (literally - RIP The Old Pink and Brick Bar) or faded away....
Before I left Rochester, I could be found at local haunts like The Blue Room on Tuesdays, singing Karaoke while bartenders slung specials. I brought that love of singing in front of strangers with me to NYC, met plenty who felt the same way, and when I moved to Buffalo, I happened upon the local scene of talented singers, living it up after making a living at their day jobs.
I didn't have a tribe, but I had a calling, and it was trying to find and share the places, secret or promoted, that outlasted the malaise of masking up and social distancing. NYC had something to do no matter what hour of the day or day of the week. Buffalo does too, but it was keeping it a secret . To keep up with what was going on and making sure I didn't find myself bored watching news or doom scrolling, I built a site that would help someone like me discover Buffalo from someone who had boots on the ground.
Check it out! If you have a hankering for BBQ or belting tunes, you can find out how much I F#@%$ng Love Buffalo!
